New Technology at Orangeview
"New Technology at Orangeview," that is an understatement, if you ask Mr. Small!! We have so many exciting new things here at our school, that is hard for us to begin with just one. Well here goes, we currently have 3 SmartBoard systems with mobile carts that are checked out to Teachers to use in their rooms. We have caught some of the teachers here on digitil film using the systems for their class lessons. You would not believe the response you get from the kids when they use the SmartBoard. I feel in the future, Orangeview will get to the point where SmartBoards will be in about half of the rooms on campus. This is a DREAM of minds, but we are stepping in the right direction towards new technologies here on our campus. Recently, all of our teachers are working on getting their websites up and running for them to interact with students and parents. Grades will be available and also kids will have a resource place on the internet for them to check homework and assignment dates.

Teachers at Orangeview are becoming better and better when it comes to technology in the classrooms. Teachers are purchasing USB Flash Drives to use in their computers instead of floppy disk. The good thing about these drives are that they are multi-platform, meaning you can use it on a Macintosh then turn around and use it on a PC without having to format the drive. They come in many sizes, shapes and colors. Teachers can transport their grades, files and music on these storage units. This is just another techie product to use in everyday life!! |
